Volunteering is a method through which people interact with the problems of the society they live in and try to understand it better. Volunteering is considered a very good deed because it is the easiest way in which one can show gratitude for his/her society and give back to it. For every one who think of bringing positive change to this world and believe in humanity and its kindness, volunteering is a method which allows them to interact with the under privileged people and get to know the ground realities. Volunteering allows one to be in unison with the society one lives and be part of its betterment.

Today India is a developing nation which is making large strides in economic well being for its people and the country as a whole but it still has about 500 million odd people below the poverty line, its rural areas are virtually in taters infrastructure vise in education, healthcare and governance. Keeping this in mind many Not-For-Profit institutions are working for the betterment of these parts of our country. Maharashtra is one of the developing states in our country with mainly agricultural livelihoods; its rural areas are in need of help in the sector of infrastructure and healthcare.

Volunteering in Maharashtra is going to be an experience like never before; its rural setting is straight out of the movies and provides for great tourism opportunities. In Maharashtra you can enjoy the fun of both volunteering and tourism and be enchanted by its people. Volunteering is really picking up speed among the youth in that state with many NGOs propping up to help the needy both in urban and rural areas. Volunteering is considered a very sacred act in India with its history dating back to the Vedic Civilization, so India is surely one country where volunteering gets its real meaning and purpose.
