The report presents actual information about the combined feed and feed supplements market in Russia and its state as of November 2012.

The purpose of the report is to describe the state of the Russian combined feed and feed supplements market, to present actual information about the volumes of production, exports, imports, consumption and the state of the market, the changes that took place in 2012, and also, to build a forecast for the development of the industry in the medium term until 2017.

The combined feed production in Russia increased in recent years. In 2010, the production was 15,979.4 thousand tons, which was 9% more than in 2009. In 2011, production increased by 11% to 17,744.9 tons. In the first three quarters of 2012 production increased by 12%, compared to the corresponding period of 2011. http://www.bharatbook.com/market-research-reports/animal-husbandry-market-research-report/russia-combined-feed-and-feed-supplements-market.html

The largest part of the combined feed and protein-vitamin supplements is produced in the Central Federal District, which accounts for over 37% of the total production of combined feed and more than 30% of the production of feed supplements in Russia.

The consumption of combined feed depends on the level of development of the animal breeding industries. In recent years, there has been a positive trend in the livestock industry, largely due to the program Development of agriculture. In addition, developed were different programs for the development of the sub-sectors: dairy and meat cattle, poultry, pigs, etc. The consequence has been a revival in the combined feed industry and a growth in consumption.

Despite the fact that Russian producers of combined feed fully meet the demand on the domestic market, there are a number of unresolved issues. The high levels of grain in the combined feed should be noted, which implies a strong dependence on grain prices. Also, when using older technologies (elementary fragmentation), the quality of the final product remains low, reducing its effectiveness and, as a consequence, increase the combined feed consumption. The industry does not have its own independent science and technology base, which leads to the use of outdated technology or to the need of importing it from abroad.
