Calm Down Now™ will be the first app released by June Tomaso Wood LCSW LLC
SARASOTA – July 4, 2013 – It is no secret that stress can ruin lives. Whether it is due to a certain type of lifestyle or it is an event that has triggered the stress, it can be detrimental to your health. This is even more of an issue when it is brought on by PTSD or anxiety that relates to the PTSD. The men and women that serve in our armed forces are constantly exposed to traumatic events or are in environments that encourage stress. Sadly, stress, especially when brought on by PTSD, typically causes more stress. Thankfully, there is a way for men and women in the military to deal with their anxiety and stress and take back their lives.
It is common in today’s world to use gadgets and apps to help deal with many psychological issues. The new Calm Down Now app is designed specifically to help people deal with a number of stress and anxiety problems, as well as helping you fall asleep. Sleep deprivation is a common symptom of PTSD and anxiety. The app is built to help everyone with these issues, but it can be especially helpful to individuals who have PTSD brought on by service in the military.
The app has many different features that help it make you feel more relaxed and secure. Currently, it has three sections designed to reduce stress and anxiety. First, it has a set of four unique audio recordings that guide you into a calmer state and help dissipate stress. Users should listen to these recordings when they begin feeling the symptoms of PTSD or anxiety. Secondly, there are 24 relaxing audios that are specifically made to evoke peace and calm. Users can choose the ambient sound that works best for them and create a custom time for listening. Lastly, there is a handbook section that has three animated guides. These guides provide you with great relaxation techniques that can help relieve stress and become calm once again.
June Tomaso Wood is the creator of the helpful new app Calm Down Now. She is a psychotherapist and with over 30 years of experience, she understands the way stress and anxiety can affect someone’s life. With 20% of the men and women that have deployed in the past six years suffering from PTSD, she also knows that people need a way to help themselves and that this app is the perfect way to do that.
Calm Down Now will be released on July 4th at 4am. For the first week, it will be free on iOS and a mere 99 cents on Android for the first week in honor of Independence Day. After the first week, it will be $1.99.
