Seven ways planning can make any corporate party successful
Many times when planning office parties, people are restricted to staying in the office. However, if to you truly want a fun atmosphere outside of the office, try bringing the party to a park. This lets employees celebrate outside of their normal work environment. If there’s a covered shelter with electricity, it would be the perfect spot to bring a few popcorn makers to pop some delicious theater popcorn. Employees may also have fun sampling some snow cones from the industrial snow cone machine.
However, before you load up a vehicle with any snow cone machine or popcorn makers, it’s best to know exactly what you need to buy, take, or make for your employee party to be successful. Your company may own some popcorn machines and a snow cone machine. If they do, you may not have to worry about buying any new popcorn makers. However, you still may need some supplies.
What to look for when buying popcorn makers or any snow cone machine
A good popcorn maker can make any size – 4 oz., 6 oz., or 8 oz. They also can make the best theater popcorn. If you are not into the regular theater popcorn with extra butter, you can season those fluffy, white butterflies and mushrooms with apple cinnamon, ranch barbecue, jalapeno, parmesan and garlic, white cheddar, sour cream and onion or nacho cheese. There are many flavors to satisfy various taste buds.
Take a head count before the party so you will know how many bags of popcorn to pop in popcorn makers or how soon to set up the company’s snow cone machine. Do a check of your supplies a week beforehand. This will give you time to re-order popcorn bags for the popcorn maker if you’re running low. This way, you won’t run out on the day of the celebration. Do you have enough ice for snow cones and a variety of snow cone flavors? What are the favorite flavors around the office: Grape, tiger’s blood, blue raspberry, red raspberry, strawberry, lemon-lime, bubblegum, green apple, pinacolada, root beer or a mixture of flavors?
Enlist the help of volunteers
Having extra hands to set up the popcorn makers and measure the oil for theater popcorn can ensure no one is standing for a long time, waiting to get theater popcorn. The same is true for the snow cone machine and making Hawaiian-shaved ice. Having a volunteer help for 30 minutes ensures no one is stuck at the party behind the shaved ice machine all night.
Lighten up the party for volunteers by having a special gift giveaway for volunteers. This allows volunteers to feel they are truly appreciated while they are making theater popcorn or serving cones. Hold a separate giveaway all employees can enjoy by conducting a live auction. This allows employees opportunity to win some fabulous prizes. Enlist the help of a small committee to assist in finding a caterer, an auctioneer, and the perfect venue spot. You otherwise do not have to plan getting the snow cones, the refreshments (such as theater popcorn or a grape ice cone), and everything else on your own. Following the party, ask employees for their feedback. This allows you to improve on the party for next year!
