Stomp was actually introduced in 1991, in Brighton, UK, as a result of a full decade collaboration of its creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. These two first began collaborations before 10 years, when they formed Pookiesnackenburger, a street band and Cliff Hanger in the theater in 1981. The group had become reasonably famous for their exceptional percussion-based performances in 1986, and Stomp was asked to perform for HBO special “Mondo Beyondo” by Bette Midler.

Cresswell directed and staged "Beat the Clyde" involving floating a drum orchestra in center of Glasgow. One of the largest outdoor events, the "Heineken Hove Lagoon Show", has involved a 120 piece drum orchestra in 1987-90. In 1991, Stomp played their first show at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London. The original seven-member troupe was quick to embark on winning awards for their performance, which promptly shot them into notoriety across Great Britain.

It wasn’t long before the group was performing around the globe in Hong Kong, Sydney, Barcelona and Dublin. They began their New York run at the Orpheum Theatre in 1994, where they have been delighting discount Stomp ticket holders ever since. In 1994, Stomp has won "Best Choreography Award in a West End show”, Obie Award, received an Olivier nomination for the "Best Entertainment Award" and a Drama Desk Award for its Unique Theatre Experience.

Stomp, a percussion group is still making its own unique brand name of music off Broadway, and the audiences are continuing to rave about these shows. It has become an interesting one to audiences of all ages and genres never cease to delight them with its eclectic mix of percussion, dance and visual comedy.

Stomp’s unique selection of instruments that includes brooms, boxes of matches, and garbage can lids combined with their high energy moves and wittiness. Stomp shows are always fun to watch, with new instrument introductions and choreography that keep its viewers coming back over and over again to catch these shows.

Stomp Out Loud has opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in 2007 and they normally perform in carnivals and festivals. In 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony, they have contributed a musical segment.

With its unique performance style Stomp is one of those “must see” acts of this generation and appeals a broad audience range. While other groups have come onto the scene trying to capitalize on the triumph of this ensemble, there is still only one Stomp – with the best show around the globe.
