Over 1000 mocktails were consumed, and more than 50 sandcastles made at the annual Milton Park summer party on Friday, demonstrating that Europe's leading science and Business Park knows how to have fun. Each year the party brings people together from across the park to enjoy free food and fun activities over a Friday lunchtime.
Andrew Barlow, commercial director at MEPC, explains: "Where else would you have a team from an international energy and environmental consultancy, RPS, competing to build a better sandcastle than the drug testing innovators from Glide Pharma? I have also seen lab technicians comparing Hawaiian shirts with the IT gurus at CTS, whilst enjoying ice creams with academic publishers from Taylor & Francis. Our customers tell us it is exactly this type of event which makes them feel they belong here at Milton Park."
The sandcastle building competition was judged by the on-site construction team for the 101 and 102 development from Barnwood, attracting teams from Oxford Catalysts, S-Cubed, RPS, Achilles, Glide Pharma, Omprompt and SBL. The overall winning team was from Green Biologics and the best Hawaiian shirt prize was awarded to Damon Chomyn of Concateno.
