It's very important to choose the right tank for your processing needs. Some of the choices include alloy tanks, stainless steel tanks, fiberglass tanks, grass lined tanks, poly tanks, and many more. Each of the option offers its own drawbacks and advantages for specific tasks. This can range from the longevity to the performance to cost, but you must take the decision of which type of tank best suits the needs will most likely on the part of the purchaser.

Stainless steel is misnomer. It will be appropriate to call it a stain resistant as opposed to stainless. It is more resistant to rust or corrosion compared to the ordinary steel. This is an attractive action for use in any of the industry that used acidic materials that wear through the typical tanks and equipments in short period of time. The stainless steel tanks offer a low cost and low maintenance option for the processing industry. Steel tanks last longer than any other typical tank. Another advantage of steel tanks is that the stainless steel is recyclable. For whatever the use may be, it can be scrapped and can be reused in different functions.

Mostly many people do not realize the variety available in the stainless steel. There are three fundamental types of stainless steel. These are ferritic, martensitic, and austenitic. Each of these differ in microstructures.

Ferritic: Ferritic is named as it contains ferrite in the primary crystal phase, along with the high levels of chromium and iron. The steel is very popular for it's high resistance to acids and the ability to form into decorative shapes and sizes. It is extensively used in the auto industry.

Martensite: Martensite makes the basic crystal phase for martensitic steel. This is the brittle version of the stainless steel and is less durable. It is basically used for the smaller products, like bolts, nuts, and wire manufacturing.

Austenitic: Austenitic is named for the austenitic crystal phase. It 's very famous for its easy maintenance, low temperature resistance, and for its welding and forming capabilities. There are various types of stainless steel, but these three are the most common among all.

The stainless steel tanks are the staple of modern facility that's involved in the processing industry. In addition to the standard processing, they are used with bio-chemical reactors, pharmaceuticals, storing vaccines, holding tanks, and general storage. Stainless steel tanks offer quality, durability, and longevity at a less than the premium price. They may not represent the highest quality, which of course depends on the brand, but they offer the balance between the cost and the quality that's really tough to beat.
