Your Guide to Atlanta in the Summer

Mid-summer is upon us, and if you haven’t yet planned a summer vacation, there’s still time to get out and have some summer fun. And summer vacations don’t have to mean a day doing nothing at the beach. In fact, summer is the perfect time to get out and explore a new city. For a truly unique and memorable experience, consider a summer adventure in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is a city that blends traditional southern hospitality, charm, and values with a chic, modern atmosphere. When visiting Atlanta, you’ll find countless things to do, no matter your taste or reason for getting away from it all for a few days.

Family Fun

Most famously known for the Coca-Cola Museum, CNN Headquarters, and the world’s largest aquarium –Georgia Aquarium – Atlanta is a city that is full of family-friendly attractions. And just this year, it is now home to the brand new LEGOLAND Discovery Center. Experience a guided tour of the LEGO Factory, witness LEGOs come to live at an interactive 4-D cinema show, learn LEGO-building tips, and explore MINILAND – a LEGO model of Atlanta’s most famous landmarks. Families can spend hours enjoying this brand new facility.

For a day of outdoor adventure, Atlanta Zoo is a must see. Located on approximately 40 acres of land, the zoo is home to well over 1,000 animals, including the country’s largest collection of orangutans and gorillas. Atlanta Zoo is also famous for being one of only four zoos in the entire United States to house giant panda bears. At the Asian Forest in the The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Giant Panda Conservation Center, visitors of the zoo can see Yang Yang, Mei Lan, Xi Lan, and the newest and youngest addition to Atlanta’s panda family – Po.

And because summertime is all about baseball, a trip to Atlanta in the summer wouldn’t be complete without a trip to famous Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. One of the premier ballparks in the nation, Turner Field – established in 1997 – masterfully combines the charm and nostalgia of the first days of America’s pastime with modern technology and the latest in entertainment for the whole family. For convenient access to see the Atlanta braves hotels in the city are located just two miles away from Turner Field.

Adults Only

For an adults-only summer trip to Atlanta, be sure to head over to the famous Buckhead district of the city. Lined with scores of high-end designer shops and boutiques, visitors can treat themselves to retail therapy in an area famously nicknamed “The Beverly Hills of the South.” In addition to shopping, Buckhead is also known for its tremendous selection of restaurants and exciting nightlife.

No matter who you are traveling to Atlanta with, there is no shortage of incredible things to see, do, and experience. When choosing Atlanta GA lodging, be sure to select a hotel that will allow you to make the most of your vacation by offering world-class accommodations in a location central to all of the city’s most famous attractions.
