Just two weeks out from its much-aniticipated forum , Jamie Foxx was announced as the keynote speaker to open this Beverly Hills event for the Mobile Marketing Forum. Many might have thought this was just a celebrity opener but there is much more of a connection to Jamie Foxx and Mobile Marketing.
Jamie Foxx is perhaps best known as a singer, with his fourth album out soon, a talented actor in the acclaimed Ray Charles movie and Dreamgirls. Perhaps many would rate him more for his R&B albums or his much-loved Radio shows. He's also a very talented Stand-up comedian. However, it was a shrewd choice to headline him at the MMA Forum on 17th November 2010 because Mr Foxx is fast becoming a keen player in and an advocate of mobile marketing. Held at the Beverly Hilton, Foxx did not disappoint in his speech and when discussing the strategies for the entertainment industry highlighting particularly where the future business opportunities lie within the mobile channel, he showed a wealth of knowledge.
Quoted as saying “With the widespread growth of digital media and importance of content distribution, there is a tremendous opportunity for Hollywood and the entertainment industry to take advantage of the mobile channel with innovative new business models,” said Foxx.
He stressed the need for movies and the entertainment media to be marketed and distributed differently in the future to better accommodate mobiles, especially because of their interactivity and customization. He told the audience that he is excited to be a leading part of an event that will help bridge the entertainment industry with the leaders of the mobile revolution.
MMA Chief Greg Stuart said that Jamie clearly understood the impact of mobile and digital media on consumer communications and the ongoing opportunity for value creation for both businesses and consumers too. This is surely just the beginning for Foxx's involvment in mobile marketing.
