Snake Boat Race in Kerala is one of the famous boat races in the entire world which is held on the Punnamda Lake, near Alappuzha. This race is held on the second Saturday of August annually. It is estimated that over two lakh people and many international and national vacationers visits this place and enjoy the wonderful boat race. This boat race is held in the memory of our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.


Rajiv Gandhi Trophy Boat Race

This is another typical boat race which is held in Pulinkunnu, on the silent backwaters of Alleppey. This boat race is held just two week after the snake boat race of Kerala and this race is held every year in memory of Late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi. Visitors along the beautiful nature easily enjoy the race.


Some other famous boat races which held in this state are such as Neerattupuram Boat Race, Thiruvalla, Pamba Boat Race, Mannar Boat Race and Champakulam Moolam Boat Race. This beautiful state is also very famous for its fascinating beaches.
