The test drive stage is a crucial part of every car purchase because it helps buyers determine if the vehicle runs to their liking. However, a recent study revealed that one out of ten car buyers are skipping this stage. It seems people have to be reminded that even with the many wonders of online research, one should never skip test driving.

Maritz Research asked more than 80,000 car buyers who bought 2012 model cars and found out that 11.4 percent didn’t take the car for a test drive. The research firm also discovered that the Internet opened up a more convenient way for them to do their homework in terms of looking for the right vehicle. But the question still begs to be asked, why shouldn’t you skip a test drive?

Not everything you read is true

It’s hard to rely on details you found in car forums or car reviews when in the market for a car. Car reviews may say that a car has good handling and an impressive fuel economy, but you’ll never be sure unless you see it for yourself. Don’t believe what the Internet says about the car unless you’ve felt what the others have felt firsthand.

You may regret it later

The main purpose of a test drive is to check whether or not the car works to your standards. A test drive for a few miles can already help you spot potential problems with steering, the engine, and other parts of the car. It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking for new or used cars Mississauga car buyers prefer; the last thing you want to happen is to end up regretting the purchase down the road.

Used cars have more liability

You’re probably aware that used cars are typically linked to problems and other issues that give the car industry a bad name. Of course, not all the used cars Mississauga or in Canada in general are like that. Still, as has been stressed over and over again, you can never be sure unless you take the car out for a short drive. As the saying goes, “If you want something done, you have to do it yourself.”
