India is a land of marvelous diversity, alluring backpackers from far corners of the globe. From religious destinations to historical towns and exquisite natural locales to the bustling modern towns, the country has everything to match the wish list of every reveler. Being a travel enthusiast, I prepare a wish list every year. This year too, I come up with the 8 must-visit places of India. Bekal, Kerala: a silent sea-side destination in the blue-green Kerala, Bekal is a place of mesmeric charms, both historical and natural. A formidable fort overlooking the spectacular beaches, lush green woods and stunningly looking cliffs are what give the place an iconic status. If enjoying peaceful beauty of nature is your idea of perfect getaway, Bekal is a must-go place.

Mussoorie: I love hills, forests, waterfalls and tranquility and Mussoorie is where one can savor that all. A lovely looking hill station in Utterakhand, Mussoorie has a unique flavor missed of history, modernity and nature. If history or culture doesn’t entice you, the lush green vegetation and the scrumptious weather will surely charm you.

Kaziranga: You will be hypnotized by the diversity of flora & fauna this swampy marshland on the Brahmaputra has to offer. Come here to enjoy the romantic scenery & serenity along with a rich wildlife legacy. This place is however famous for being home to the one-horned rhinos, elephants, tigers, leopards and many more endangered species of wild animals.

Dudhsagar-Goa: On the Karnataka-Goa border, this milky cascade is simply stunning. It is formed by the famous Mandovi River and is surrounded by lush green forestry. At the base, after falling from a massive height of 600 meters, the water is blue-green rimmed with creamy white foam. Take a dip in the cool water to refresh you.

Spiti, Himachal Pradesh: A very few people known about Spiti: one of the remotest corners of Himalaya with fascinating natural beauty on offer. The lofty mountains covered with snow, beautiful monasteries, lovely lakes & streams and captivating landscapes are the only companions of the bareness this place boasts abundantly.

Nagaland: If you senses are seeking for something vibrant with unique quant charms, then Nagaland is where you should pack to. The superb festivity of tribal traditions, alluring folk dances and unique arts & crafts in this Southeast Indian state can make you weak on your knees.
