Gaadi.com, India's leading internet based portal for posting the particulars about used vehicles and new vehicles, delivers an insight into the Hero Ignitor. Users will be capable to catch this mass market motorcycle which hit Indian market recently.
The birth of Hero Ignitor is the direct result of parting of ways between Hero Motocorp and Honda. Under the separation, it was decided that Hero MotoCorp would continue to share technology and products with Honda till 2014. This led to the launch of two similar 125cc bikes – Ignitor by Hero, and Stunner by Honda.
Hero aims to mark strong presence in the deluxe 125cc segment with Ignitor. “We aim to bolster our presence in the growing deluxe segment...it combines sturdiness and superior technology with contemporary style appealing to the young adult segments and yet comes with an attractive price tag” – Anil Dua, senior vice president, marketing & sales, Hero MotoCorp.
To make an appealing proposition to the youth wanting deluxe bike, Hero has installed analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, odometer, warning lamps, an LCD screen displaying time, good palm grips, large tank imparting muscular look, large knee recesses with support, wide saddle, and a sporty stepped seat. Ignitor also provides some storage space under the pillion seat.
Ignitor's engine is similar to the Honda Stunner. The Ignitor offers a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that generates 11bh power and peak torque of 1.11kgm at 6500rpm. The five-speed gearbox provides the in fashion one-down, four-up pattern movement. Ignitor comes with 240mm front disc brake and 130mm drum at rear providing good and quicker braking while scouting the crowded city streets.
In looks, Ignitor is designed as a masculine and sporty bike. This is supported by the seating that sets the rider in a leaning position to the handlebars, giving it a sporty look. The diamond frame and rectangular section swingarm provides a masculine look. The bike provides good comfort with the telescopic fork suspension in the front and adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
Priced at Rs 55,590 ex-showroom Delhi, it is Rs 464 cheaper than its closest bike, the Honda Stunner. Hero Motocorp going by its strategy to have important stakes across all bike segments, is really banking on the Ignitor to mark its strong presence in the 125cc segment.
