Dear Sir,

Greetings from Concern India Foundation, Chennai!

This is further to our telephonic conversation.  As suggested, please find below the details of the organisation and about the event.

Concern India Foundation is a registered, non-profit charitable trust working towards its objective of Helping People Help Themselves by making the disadvantaged self-reliant and thereby enabling them to lead a life of dignity. It was set up in 1991 to extend financial and non-financial support to grass root programmes working in the areas of education, health and community development.  Our support through these issues helps us reach out to a wider section of beneficiaries such as children, youth, the specially challenged, women and the elderly.

We strongly believe that the disadvantaged need opportunities, not charity and our focus is to bring about a positive change in the lives of the most vulnerable people of our society through sustainable programmes.  With about 20 years of experience in the field we have a strong identifying, monitoring and evaluating process of the programmes to ensure a judicious disbursal of the funds & resources. Today we support over 175 programmes across India through our offices in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.

We conduct various Fundraising events to raise funds for the projects we support. We always look forward to corporate support for conducting these events. One such upcoming event is - Koodivilaiyadu - Sports Day for Underprivileged Children. This event would be an ideal platform for 200 underprivileged children from various NGO’s to showcase their skills. The total proceeds of the event go towards supporting our projects in the areas of education, health and community development. We seek support from individuals/ group of individuals to conduct the Sports Day.  The budget to conduct the event is Rs.2.50 lakhs.

The event is scheduled for Friday, December 17, 2010 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.  The event starts by 8.00am and ends by 4.00pm.  We will be conducting running race – 100m, 200m, 400m, high jump, long jump, shotput, skipping etc for the age 8-16 year age group.  We will be providing the children with breakfast, lunch, biscuits, energy drinks etc.  They will also be given a sports kit with a T-shirt, shoes, and a cap.  We have also sourced some gifts for these children from corporate.  We need more funds to reach our budget; we look forward to generous donations to make this event happen.

Please consider this as an opportunity to show your concern! Together with Concern India Foundation, bring smiles and happiness to 200 underprivileged children.

Looking forward to your support,

Thanking You,

Dhanya Narayanan
