Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is hosting the “Made In Sharjah” Exhibition in its third session. The expo will take place from December 17-21, 2012 at the Expo Center Sharjah, UAE.
Importance of “Made in Sharjah”
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry sees this expo as one of the most
important events done by the SCCI of the year. The role of the Chamber
is activating the role played in supporting Industrial city of UAE
institutions. The Chamber is also working towards completing its
promotional system to display local products. Because businesses are
working on international standards, both in quality and price, the
‘made in Sharjah’ expo gives those institutions the platform to display
what they have to offer.
This expo will also provide
opportunities to take ‘make in Sharjah’ out of the country and into
neighboring countries as well as global. International visitors are
expected in big numbers and with it, most certainly growth in those
sectors. This is, in large part, due to the efforts made to get the
expo a good name and reputation as well as ensure that everything is
done in a professional way. The building itself is 600 sq ft of modern,
up to date structure and facilities. The over 1700 manufacturers will
have the opportunity to showcase their products and show the world what
they have to offer.
Events during “Made in Sharjah”
Aside from the exhibition and all the companies featured there, the
Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also hosting a two-day conference,
which will include a gala appreciation dinner. Speakers will include
members of the Royal Family, government high officials, and CEOs of
prestigious, local and international companies. The conference will go
for a full day of presentations and discussions on current, valid
The underlying theme is growth, not only for Sharjah,
but for the Arab area, as the belief is strong that the area can not
only survive, but thrive through the current economical crisis. Because

Sharjah’ more likely to become a brand name that will stand the test of
time. Speakers will discuss issues such as Free Zones, tourism,
business goals, and even current issues such as green initiatives.
The conference will include a power lunch, round table discussions, and
opportunities to rub shoulders and network with others in the business
as well as government officials, education and tourism officials,
engineering students, and many more. On the second day, participants
will be given a tour of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a
visit to the ‘made in Sharjah’ exhibition.
On the evening of
December 17, an award gala will be held, also hosted by the SCCI.
Companies and businesses will be given appreciation and recognition for
their efforts to foster growth in the area.
