Solar energy systems make use of the power of the sun to make clean energy available to you. The green house gases are reduced through this along with our dependency on fossil fuels. Ultimately our environment will be benefitted in a magnificent manner. As a homeowner interested in solar trackers, you have been diligently pricing solar panels, using energy requirements. You have a pretty good idea of the type of panel you want, as well as the approximate number you will need.

At present, solar racking panels are usually mounted on the roof of a building. However, they can be placed on a stand-alone rack if it is necessary. The distance between mounts should be about 48 inches and they should be placed in a straight line.

In addition, the mount should never be attached directly to the plywood sheathing of the roof. Basically the panels should be placed at a location where the sun shines for the longest duration each day. This is really important as because they tend to lose their efficiency even in partially shaded areas.

The direction in which the solar racking systems are facing is crucial for solar energy installation. However, you will need more panels to generate the same amount of energy if they are facing east or west. Before the installation solar trackers, make sure that you have the necessary building permits. So find out about the building requirements from your local building or zoning department. Always try to install solar trackers system by professionals, but with the right guidance any reasonable handyman could install them himself with a little assistance from friends or neighbors.

Always keep in mind the temperature where you live. Basically, the temperatures rise up into the high 90's. Just think how hot it gets on your roof! Some modules are black in color and absorb more heat. Heat is a big problem with electronics. That's why they designed heat-sinks on inverters to help air itself and cool it off. It has a blower come on when it gets too hot.

For the installation of the solar racking system, you can tilt the panels according to the latitude for maximum sunlight exposure. Basically, the solar panels installed at 0 to 15 degrees latitude should be tilted 15 degrees. The tilt is same as the latitude for 15 to 25 degrees. For each additional five degrees of latitude up to 40 degrees, an extra 5 degrees of tilt should be added to the latitude. At 40 degrees and above, 20 degrees of tilt is added to the latitude.

The mounts should be placed directly on top of a rafter. A block of wood can be used if a rafter is not available. However solar panels can also be preassembled in group which makes it easier and quicker to install them, because you have less individual units to deal with when on the roof and a lot of the initial work can be carried out on the ground with some assistance from friends.
