Hula Platter

In honor of this event, we asked Hawaiian glass artisan Vicki Villavuz to create special plates depicting hula dancers. Vicki creates the image on each plate using a process called "frit." Crushed pieces of colored glass are melted onto each plate in a special designs. It’s like painting with crushed glass. Frit is a technique used by glass artisans for centuries. The beauty of Vicki’s Hula plates is how she creates stunning images of Hawaiian hula dancers. Each plate is unique and one-of-a-kind.

Vicki uses all the traditional colors of Hawaii in her Hula plates – yellow, red, orange, green and black. She creates plates in a variety of sizes. These hula plates are dishwasher safe and microwavable.

Vicki created hula plates are a find. They are available only at Martin & MacArthur stores in Hawaii.
