Original Source: How To Make My Computer Faster

I know issues about slow computers, i also have a laptop which is so much slow and i hate to work on it. I am sure many people are facing this issue. I also tried lots of  software which speed up slow computers, but literally saying that many are just rubbish and don't speed up anything. I have gathered some tips which can speed up your Windows 7 in just few minutes. Here is no need to install any software, just follow the below tips.

Tip 1: Turn off Unneeded processes

There are many processes that automatically runs on every start-up and you can't see these processes. These processes takes lots of RAM and makes your system slow. These processes makes your windows start-up longer than usual, and they are not needed on every start-up. So you have to stop all these processes permanently.

To do this follow the below steps:

Step 1:  Click on start button and type msconfig.exe in search bar and click on msconfig.exe from the search results.

Step 2: Come up to the Start up tab on the top of the window in msconfig.exe and select check boxes of programs to disable them on start-up; some programs you will not want to disable like Microsoft office, so don't check this box.

Step 3: After checking your desired boxes click on OK button and restart your computer as per instructions given by your PC in a window.

Tip 2: Remove Viruses & Malicious Software:

If you don't have any antivirus software and browse internet without antivirus then there are lots of chances of Malware, Spyware and Malicious programs running on your system which slows down it's performance. I will recommend you to install any good antivirus software to protect your computer from viruses. I personally use Avast  antivirus software as it is really good and also it comes with 1 years free license.

Tip 3: Disable Files & Folders Indexing Service:

When you search something you Windows 7 asks you to add to index your search to speed up search process. The indexing data is stored in a index file in your windows and slows down your system by using your RAM and other parts of computer. To stop this process you has to turn off this service, to do this steps are below.

Step 1: Click on start and enter in search services.msc and select services.msc from the search results.

Step 2: On the right side scroll down and search for Windows Search and do right click on it and select option of Properties.

Step 3: Now from the start up type select option of Disabled and click on OK button and close this window. After closing window reboot your computer.

Tip 4: Minimize Delay Time of Start Menu Display

Step 1:  Click on start and in search bar type regedit.msc and open regedit.msc from search terms.

Step 2: From the left hand side navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Control Panel> Desktop and after that from right pane find MenuShowDelay value and right click on it. After right click select the option of Modify.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Step 3: Now set the value to 200 under Value Data. You can enter value upto four thousand in this box and meaning of this value is the time in milliseconds that Start Menu takes.

Tip 5: Remove Useless Programs

If you have programs on your Windows that are using your Ram and making your machine slow then you should uninstall those programs. There are some bad programs and software, which you can't uninstall because that program stops you to do it, i will recommend you to use a tool named Revo Unistaller to remove those programs from your PC.
