The other place has to be the unfinished, yet very beautiful Lalbagh Fort. The construction of the fort began in 1677 under the patronage of Prince Mohammed Azam, third son of Aurangazeb. However, the death of Khan's daughter, Pari Bibi, was regarded as a bad prophecy and the fort was never completed. But, whatever exists is amazing. It's a graceful two storey construction with balanced portico and a central hall. Inside, there is a small museum of Mughal miniature paintings and stunning examples of lettering, together with the usual swords and weapons. Make sure, you take out time and visit the tomb of Pari Bibi, which is an exclusive and essential structure.


The city also has the famous Dhakeswari Temple, which dates back to the 12th century. A must visit if you want to soak the religious fervor of the place.
